Sales Engineer, APAC

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sales Engineer to join our team and drive business development and technical sales efforts across the APAC region. This position is based in India, with significant travel expected to meet with clients and prospects. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in technical sales, with a deep understanding of automation and robotics solutions. You will work closely with sales teams, technical experts, and partners to deliver tailored automation solutions that solve complex business challenges.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Execution

    o Identify and pursue new business opportunities, driving revenue through technical solution sales.

    o Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to close deals.

  • Technical Expertise & Client Engagement

    o Conduct in-depth product presentations and technical demonstrations, highlighting the value and capabilities of our solutions.

    o Work closely with customers to understand their technical needs, challenges, and objectives, and propose customized solutions.

    o Serve as the key technical point of contact for clients during pre-sales and post-sales stages.

    o Perform site visits, installations, and provide technical support during customer onboarding.

    o Assist in project implementation, ensuring solutions are integrated successfully.

    o Lead technical discussions with C-level executives, operations teams, and engineers to ensure solution fit.

  • Market Development

    o Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to refine strategy.

    o Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and regional events.

  • Sales Support

    o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and support, to ensure customer requirements are met.

    o Provide feedback to the product development and marketing teams to ensure the company’s solutions meet market demands.

    o Assist in the development of technical documentation, proposals, and other sales collateral.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or similar), or a related technical field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in B2B technical sales or pre-sales engineering, with a focus on automation, robotics, or related fields.

  • Proven track record of closing complex technical sales and meeting sales targets, preferably in the APAC region.

  • Strong technical understanding of robotics systems, automation software, integration processes, and related technologies.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to travel frequently across APAC (up to 70%) and willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Preferred Skills & Traits

  • Hands-on experience with robotic systems, automation platforms, or similar technologies.

  • Fluency in English with additional proficiency in regional languages a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a consultative approach to sales.

  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter, with a drive for results and innovation.
